Anyone have a copy of an older version of the Google+ app? When I first installed it on my phone, running Android 2.2.2, Google Hangout worked. Apparently, one of tghe updates decided 2.2.3 was required for Hangout, so it's no longer there. Alternatively, is there an "unofficial" Hangout app that will work?

Thanks, Ubuntu!
I decided, in an attempt to save myself a ton of work, to attempt an over-install of Ubuntu. I figured that worst-case, I'd have some ownership or permissions issues, but all my data would still be there. This is something I've done with every version of Windows since 3.1 as well as multiple Linux distros, and had ZERO problems with. The only trick is to make sure you don't have the installer format the partition first. Apparently, the Ubuntu installer thinks this means your data is not important and to erase it anyway before installing. At least before this attempt, I could mount the partition and copy files by hand. Now, it's all gone. And with it, so is Ubuntu from my PC. Never again! I'm sticking with Slackware from now on...

Goodbye, Ubuntu
When Ubuntu 11.04 came out, I immediately switched back to the "classic" gnome desktop because, well, I hated Unity. When I just upgraded to 11.10, they took that option away from me. The "classic" view that you can install is not nearly the same experience, so I attempted to manually downgrade to gnome2 to get me desktop back. Long story short, I've hosed my desktop and just don't have the energy to fix it. If I did, I'd spend the time setting up my distro of choice, Slackware, on my netbook. Instead, I'm looking for new new plug-n-play distro that's not going to take my preferences away simply because I want to upgrade the core distro. I'm looking at Debian Mint, but am open to other suggestions that are not Ubuntu-based.

Hello again!
Hello again! Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'm using Blogger to drive the site, instead of the BBS software I was running for awhile. As many may have noticed from my profile, my location has changed to Seattle. I haven't moved yet, but I'm sure I'd forget to update it once I have ;) Look for infrequent posting until I'm actually in the greater Seattle area, but once I'm there things should pick back up.

Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!
Yesterday morning, the freezing rain decided to thwart my plans of running every other day. I took a bit of a spill (not while running, thank goodness) and was a bit sore from it this morning. I'll resume running on Friday...

I'm finally back!
This morning was my first run in quite some time. I only did about half a block before my difficulty breathing brought me to a brisk walk, but we've gotta start somewhere when we've lapsed for so long. I plan on running every other day (through the week) until my breathing comes more naturally. Then, I plan to step up to 5 or 6 days per week. I hope to be doing that by February. And yes, wintery weather does suck for a beginning runner. But again, we've gotta start somewhere...>

Not dead yet!
Just a quick update to let everyone know that I'm not dead yet. Life has been busy the past year, and I managed to get out of the running habit. I am correcting this, so updates will be forth-coming soon. Also, because of reliability issues, I've moved this blog over to Google from my server at home. I plan on moving my domains completely, but that's a lot of stuff.
